This proof-of-concept event for the Norwegian Public Roads administration was a unique opportunity to gain experience and valuable lessons about the requirements when collecting LiDAR data in harsh environment, and we were very impressed with the systems performance. Since there where other participants it also gave us a chance to meet industry colleagues and see several other systems in action. Our biggest takeaway from this would be that while you can get far with entry level systems, there is a clear line where the higher end systems are needed. And one thing that applies in all cases would be that a solution that is reliable and user friendly like a YellowScan system, will always be a key to performing a successful mission.
